Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance

Three criteria for sustainable investments

We believe that the allocation of capital is a means not only of achieving financial returns, but also of directing resources towards sectors that can ensure the well-being of current generations, without compromising that of future generations. With this understanding, we have integrated the assessment of environmental, social and governance criteria (ESG) into our asset management risk and opportunity analysis in order to promote a financial culture consistent with the legislative and moral obligation of ensuring a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive future.

The main adverse sustainability indicators are considered in various ways in the construction of portfolios of Asset Management lines regarded as Article 8 funds under the SFDR. More specifically, the 14 main binding adverse sustainability indicators under Annex I to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1288, plus two additional indicators, deforestation and number of identified cases of severe human rights issues and incidents, are considered through a combination of sub-sectors. Each underlying investment included in the asset management line is therefore assessed in relation to its contribution to the sustainability objective and to screening criteria aimed at the exclusion of certain sectors.
